The GSoM Career Centre

Our employability team is continuously enhancing its range and the quality of its services offered to help our students identify and achieve their individual career aspirations, allowing them to have access to great work experience and employment opportunities, to enhance vital personal and professional skills and to develop an enterprising approach to their own career management.

Our aim is to improve the employability of our students providing the key skills and knowledge which they will need to succeed. To help them understand, formulate and implement well-informed choices about their careers. Our aim is to work in partnership with organisations in order to facilitate their recruitment needs while at the same time offering outstanding opportunities for our students.

Our employability team offers a range of services to our students these include a dedicated careers advice and guidance service delivered by experienced Employability Consultants.

Our team also develops opportunities for generic and subject specific Internships/Work Placement opportunities, greatly enhancing student skill development and employability.

The Careers Centre has a dedicated computer suite solely used for:

• Company research
• Completing on-line applications
• CV writing
• Psychometric testing
• Job Search activities

We offer one to one advice and guidance including

• Quick Query Service – 15 minute appointments bookable on the day for application advice and quick tips.
• Guidance appointments – pre-bookable appointments to discuss career planning
• Practice Interviews – to help you improve interview technique.

In addition regular tutorials are delivered to small groups of students covering all job search modules which include CV preparation, Application Forms, Interview Technique and other related topics.
