Messages from our Travel Alumni

Many students who have successfully completed a travel programme at Greenwich School of Management like to keep in touch with the school by email. Here is a selection:

I am very pleased I took my diploma programme at Greenwich School of Management. It was very useful and enjoyable and it made a good impression on my future employers. Since finishing my programme I have been working first with an independent travel agency and now I am working in the reservations department of a major tour operator. I would like to thank all the staff at Greenwich for their help.

After completing my Diploma at Greenwich I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to work with business travel as a Business Rail Consultant. I have now progressed and have moved on to work with a global business travel company and am currently booking all types of business travel arrangements. The Diploma I took has really helped me a lot and I would like to thank all the tourism staff at Greenwich for their help and support.

The programme gave me confidence and helped me get a job as a Tour Manager, travelling around the world. Studying was fun, the programme was interesting and the teachers very friendly. Also, it was good value for money. I feel now that I will always be able to get a job in tourism.

I successfully completed by two Travel Diplomas and in completion I was recruited by Sky Break as a Sales Consultant working at Gatwick Airport, which I enjoy very much.

My Diplomas and my tutors at Greenwich School of Management have played a vital part in my success; without them I would not have achieved my goal. I am very confident in my work, as my programme prepared me for everything that I do.

I am really enjoying my new career in the travel industry with all the benefits to travel the globe and I thank Greenwich School of Management for helping me in my way.

The teaching was both fun and professional, and the staff were always approachable and helpful. Everything was explained clearly and succinctly, and my programme tutor was a mentor in every sense.

I achieved a Distinction, and I was delighted to gain the role at ISIS which is a leading operator in the schools and student travel market. I greatly enjoy the varied and challenging nature of the job, plus the financial rewards and career progression.

My colleagues are encouraging and stimulating, and I do feel that the skills I learnt from my programme are finally being put into practice and I benefited significantly from my time at Greenwich School of Management”.

As a newcomer to this country, the prospect of attending university was very challenging. However, the friendly environment of Greenwich School of Management welcomed me warmly and I felt at home within a few days. I successfully completed the Diploma in Airline and Travel studies. I then decided to pursue with the management program. I was so scared when I joined the class, I had not written an essay In English for years but there were other students in my class who felt the same. But we found that we had endless support from the tutors and the staff who were extremely friendly and helpful. They helped me grow in confidence and I have become a more fulfilled person.

The learning is critical, and this is another of my favorite things about Greenwich. Prevailing and accepted views are challenged. There is a real sense of excitement in learning and the tutors are exceptional at transferring their knowledge as well as bringing their zeal and interest to the students.

All the programmes taught here are very well structured and contemporary. The library and computer rooms are well equipped with recent books and software and they remain open until late to the students’ advantage.

I have learnt so much already here. I have been exposed to a whole new way of thinking and, as a result I did graduate successfully. My diplomas in Airline and Travel Studies and Travel and Tourism Management helped me realize my dream which was to work in business travel.

Indeed, the school is very well renowned in the travel industry for providing students with the proper education and readiness to apply their knowledge to the business travel world. In addition, the Director and the Lecturers of the travel studies department are also very connected with the major travel companies and they help obtaining interviews and recommendations. And guess what? After only few months of job research and interviews, I obtained my first job in one of the major international travel business companies.

This has completely changed my life and I can only say to all potential mature students out there, enroll! It is do-able and it’s one of the best things I ever did. Best of luck!
Mimi Mortier.
