The Travel Studies modules cover the many interesting and varied travel arrangements dealt with by today’s Tour Operator and Travel Agency.

This area of organising general travel services has assumed an even greater importance in recent years as travel consultants are required to be more professional and they must have a greater knowledge of a wide range of subjects.

Many of these modules are devoted to individual and group assignments and presentations, and encourage research into the many travel products available on the internet.

For those requiring a comprehensive programme of study, Travel Agency Procedures, Travel Geography and Tour Operations form Part Two of the Diploma in Airline and Travel Studies, the Advanced Diploma in Airline and Travel Studies and the Diploma in Travel and Tourismn Management.

How to join a Programme

Complete the application form, indicating the programme you wish to follow, the date you wish to commence the programme, and whether you wish to study full-time, Evenings, or Saturday Mornings.

Generally, Programmes commence February, June and October each year.

The completed application form should be returned to the Tourism Department, together with the registration fee (or deposit for part-time programmes), 3 passport-size photographs and copies of your qualifications (if applicable).

UCAS

Registration and Enrolment

If you are not qualified for the programme of your choice, the School may suggest an alternative programme that suits your needs and qualifications.

Your acceptance letter from the School will inform you of the date on which you should enrol and the duration and cost of the programme.

You should arrive at Greenwich School of Management on the date specified in your acceptance letter.

You will be expected to make your first fee payment on enrolment, or produce evidence of funding.

Accommodation

If you require accommodation throughout the programme, the Accommodation Officer will arrange this on enrolment.

Further Information

Tuition fees are payable in advance.

Tuition fees are non-refundable.

The Registration fee is refundable should the School be unable to accept you.

Overseas students are reminded that they must comply with Home Office regulations on immigration, particularly with respect to attendance. A medical certificate must support absences due to illness.

Programme details are correct at the time of going to press, but are subject to alteration. Programmes will only take place if justified by demand.

All fees are inclusive of government taxes. Students must adhere to the Greenwich School of Management regulations relating to their programme, a copy of which will be provided on enrolment.

The School reserves the right to refuse to accept or enrol any student.

1. Which course should I take?
If you’re looking for a part-time programme of study you should first enrol for Virgin Atlantic Air Travel Level One which is an ideal introductory course and will best prepare you for further study options. Whether you are considering a full-time or part-time course, we would always recommend that before choosing a course you should contact one of the Travel Studies team who will advise you. 2. How can I pay for the course?
1. Part-time students are encouraged to simply pay for each module as they take them (unless you choose to enrol for one our combination courses and benefit from a discount of paying in advance). The initial deposit (which is deducted from the course fee) is payable with the application.
2. Full-time students pay per semester. For example the 8-month full-time ‘B’ Diploma in Airline and Travel Studies is £1,090 at the beginning of each semester. Instalments can be arranged, with the total fee increased accordingly by between 5% and 10%. The registration fee is payable with the application.
3. Overseas students must make a substantial contribution toward their course fees before applying for a student visa.


3. Can I mix study modes?
Part-time students are welcome to study some modules during the week, others in the evening and even more on Saturdays, either one after the other or at the same time! All we ask is that you should stick with the same mode of study for an individual module as the structure will vary. For example, you could study Galileo GDS all day on Monday, whilst also attending Air Travel Level One on Tuesday and Thursday evening together with Airport Customer Service on Saturday afternoon.


4. Which Tourism Courses are suitable for Overseas Students?
Since the introduction of the UKBA’s Tier 4 regulations, overseas students must enrol on a course of a recognised academic level. Within our Tourism Programmes, this would either be the Diploma in Travel and Tourism Management (Level 3) or the BSc(Hons) Business Management (Travel and Tourism) (Level 6). 5. When can I start, and how much are the courses?
The Full-time Diploma and Degree programmes commence every February, June and October. Dates and fees for all of our Full-time and part-time courses are included on each individual course page.


6. How can I find a job after I complete my course(s)?
We are to here to help you! Our dedicated staff in the tourism department will spend a lot of time advising you of job opportunities and the best way of applying. The School also has a dedicated Career Centre to help you with CV preparation and interview techniques.
