This programme may be studied full-time for 8
months (2 semesters). Students
study specialised Travel and Tourism subjects in addition to
three Business Management subjects.
Successful completion of
the course can lead to entrance to any of the BSc degree
options offered at Greenwich School of Management.
Admission Requirements
Applicants for the programme will be expected to possess:
- Five GCSEs or equivalent academic or professional qualifications
- A good command of written and spoken English.
Applicants without these qualifications will be considered on their merits.

How to make an application
To make an application you must send us the following information:
- Your completed GSoM Application Form
Application forms are available in your prospectus pack or you can click the 'Apply' link to the right and complete the form online. If you need any help or advice before completing the application form please call the School and speak to a course advisor who will advise you. You are also welcome to visit the school where we can assist with completing your application.
- The GSoM International Student Declaration Form
If you require a Student Visa to study in the UK you will be required to complete this form. Click here to download a copy of the International Student Declaration Form.
- Copies of your qualifications as listed on your application form.
- Your CV / Resume detailing your educational and professional achievements.
- A Reference from a place of study or an employer. - References must be on letterhead paper, signed and dated by your referee.
- A photocopy of the relevant pages of your passport. - For example front cover, personal details page and any pages indicating relevant visas or migration stamps.
- The Application Fee of £130. This can be paid by cheque or postal order made payable to 'Greenwich School of Management Ltd'. Credit/Debit Card, or by Bank Transfer (click here for the GSoM account details). The application fee is entirely refundable should you not be accepted.

- Tuition fees are payable in advance (instalment plans are available by arrangement).
- Tuition fees are non-refundable.
- The registration fee is refundable should the School be unable to accept you.
- Overseas students are reminded that they must comply with
Home Office regulations on immigration, particularly with
respect to attendance.A medical certificate must support
absences due to illness.
- Programme details are correct at the time of going to press
but are subject to alteration.
Programmes will only take place if justified by demand.
- All fees are inclusive of Government taxes.
Students must adhere to the regulations relating to their
programme.
- The Students’ Union Fee of £10 may be payed on enrolment.
- The admission requirements stated for the programmes
represent the minimum entry standard. Greenwich School of
Management and the University of Plymouth reserve the right
to require entry standards above the minimum.

Airline Studies
Module Description
This module introduces the main computerised reservation
systems for airlines and includes the demonstration of
timetables and availability of flights.The module content includes
the use of computer reservation systems in air travel and
demonstrates methods of determining airline fares and of
identifying different ticket types. Basic fare and ticketing
structures used by airlines are introduced; the functions of the
International Air Travel Association (IATA) are investigated
together with the effects of exchange rates on international
fares, the complexity of multi-stage and multi-sector journeys.

Module Description
A module investigating the Package Holiday Market, Resort
Geography and ancillary services. The majority of travel
services involve inclusive holiday arrangements, and students
discover the essential elements of wholesale and retail travel
operations through investigation of tour operators and travel
agencies. In addition, research is carried out into major
worldwide holiday destinations. Students also investigate the
many travel products available on the internet.

Module Description
The structure of the travel industry is investigated; travel
geography; outbound, inbound and domestic tourism; tourism
law; attractions of various tourist destination countries and
their effects on the economy, society and technology of the
host country; natural and man made attractions and how they
are used to promote tourism; environmental factors;
introduction to tourism management, tourism marketing and
the financial, economic and social impacts of tourism on various

Module Description
This module aims to introduce management principles and to demonstrate the contrasts of effective management style in organisations of different size and technology. It will identify the relationship between planning and operations and the problems of integrating the various functions of management.
